Jewellery made for the waking dream.

Kia ora, hello! My name is Meg and I am the jewellery artist behind M.V.H Jewellery. I am working out of my shared studio workshop in Dunedin, New Zealand. I have always made art, obsessively, since I was old enough to hold a pencil. I have memories of sorting through my mothers jewellery box and untangling the precious chains and strings of beads, feeling like an archeologist as I wondered about each piece’s story. In 2014 I went to the Dunedin School of Art, where I fell in love with metalsmithing, and graduated with honours in 2017.

Imagination, daydreaming and my visual subconscious feed my making process. I am interested in the overlooked beauty of the everyday. How small moments become symbolic and special. How the act of immortalizing these symbols into objects that we wear, strengthen our identity and sense of self. These pieces become adornment as armor, talismans and keepsakes. I intend to make pieces that can become an extension of the body, pieces you can wear daily and love for lifetime.
